ETINED, The Council of Europe Platform on Ethics, Transparency and Integrity in Education, has just published Volume 4: Codes of conduct for teachers in Europe - A background study.

In many European countries, “challenges subsist in ensuring that members of the teaching profession take ownership of the [ethics] code and that the code is embedded in the professional culture of teachers.” This observation was made by Maria Golubeva and Valts Kaniņš, authors of “a background story on the codes of conduct for teachers in Europe.”

This publication plays an integral part in the activities included in the program of the Council of Europe Platform on Ethics, Transparency and Integrity in Education (ETINED).

The authors also point out that “regular reviews and updating of the code are necessary in order to reflect changes in the education environment.”
