With the situation in Afghanistan remaining dire, one of the objectives of the recent Afghanistan task force by the European Qualifications Passport for Refugees (EQPR), was to capture the recent developments in the country and provide the analysis of how these changes impact the system of education and consequently, and the recognition work with the qualifications from Afghanistan.

Three months after the first webinar on qualifications from Afghanistan and two months after the launch by the Council of Europe of a Task Force, composed of experienced colleagues from the ENIC-NARIC offices of Germany, Italy, Norway, the Netherlands, the UK, and Education Credential Evaluators from the USA, the EQPR project shared the first findings and observations in the webinar to more than 100 participants, representatives of different ENIC-NARIC centers, of Higher education institutions but also other organisations relevant in the in recognition field.

Implemented by the Council of Europe since 2017, the European Qualifications Passport for Refugees enables refugees to have their qualifications assessed even in the absence of a full documentation. The EQPR helps refugees to enter further studies or to seek employment.

The national recognition centres in Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada, Croatia, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Serbia and the United Kingdom are currently actively participating in the EQPR, and other ENIC-NARICs are welcome to join.
