Council of Europe’s call to step up the protection of children’s privacy in the digital environment

In a Declaration adopted on 28 April, the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe urges member states to enhance the protection of children’s privacy and personal data, notably health-related data and data collected in education settings, in particular in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, to minimise potential adverse effects, including the public identification of a child as a Covid-19 carrier.
