Back Workshop on “Conflict of interest legislation in the Russian Federation and its alignment with CoE and other international standards”

Over 30 representatives of the federal and regional business ombudsmen offices, Ministry of Labour, Ministry of Economic Development, Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, as well as experts of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation participated in the workshop on “Conflict of interest legislation in the Russian Federation and its alignment with CoE and other international standards” which took place on 24 April 2018 in Moscow.

The workshop which was organised within the framework of the PRECOP II provided a venue for discussion of the existing legislative framework on conflict of interest in relations between business and public officials, and facilitated the identification of shortcomings and positions of key stakeholders with regard to improvements needed.

Two CoE experts contributed to the discussions in the workshop and presented the outline of the Technical Paper that will provide an analysis of the current legislative framework and its application in practice, and a set of legal and policy recommendations to strengthen the legislation in line with the CoE and other international standards and good practices.
