On 25 February 2021, following the recent appointment of monitors of election campaign finances, the Action against Economic Crime in Albania organised jointly with the Central Election Commission and the National Democratic Institute an online technical training for monitors. The purpose of the training was to:

• increase the awareness of monitors on the newly adopted legal framework,
• provide guidance on the monitoring methodology and the use of reporting templates and
• provide good monitoring practices from other countries in the region.

The 50 participants had the opportunity to learn about the application of uniform reporting templates for monitoring election campaign finances, as well as techniques and tools for monitoring the different types of reports for election campaign finances. Practical case studies were presented by Council of Europe experts.
