At the request of the Ministry of Justice, the Joint EU/Council of Europe Joint Project against Economic Crime (PECK II) supported the organisation of a public event to mark the International Whistleblower Day. On this occasion the Minister of Justice informed about the initiative to draft the new Law on Protection of Whistleblowers which is considered an important step in the efforts of Kosovo* institutions to undertake anti-corruption reforms. The event brought together the Minister of Justice, Ombudsperson, Director of Anti-corruption Agency, EU and Council of Europe representatives, other relevant institutions, civil society and media. The initiative to draft the new Law is a direct outcome of the Legal and Institutional Review on protection of Whistleblowers conducted within the framework of PECK II Project. The support and further engagement of PECK II in drafting the new Law was noted by the Minister of Justice.
