Launching of PRECOP II project and the first workshop

The official launching of the project on “Protection of the Rights of Entrepreneurs from Corrupt Practices at the Municipal Level in the Russian Federation - PRECOP II” and the first workshop on “Typologies of corruption affecting the entrepreneurs in the Russian Federation at regional and municipal level” took place on 26 October 2016 on the premises of the Government of the Tver region. The PRECOP II is a continuation of the project “Protection of the Rights of Entrepreneurs in the Russian Federation from Corrupt Practices – PRECOP RF" and is focused on addressing corruption at the municipal level in selected regions of the Russian Federation. The workshop discussed the most common types of corrupt practices at the regional and municipal levels and unified prevention measures for Russian entrepreneurs. 

Mr Igor Rudenya, the Governor of the Tver Region, Mr Ivan Koedjikov, the Head of Action against Crime Department of the Council of Europe, Mr Igor Korzenkov, the Head of the Secretariat at the Office of the Federal Ombudsman for the Protection of the Rights of Entrepreneurs, Mr Vyacheslav Rosinskij, the Prosecutor of the Tver Region, and Mr Petr Sich, the Head of the Council of Europe Programme Office in the Russian Federation addressed the audience and made opening remarks. Ms Dina Krylova, Council of Europe Expert, outlined the main achievements of the PRECOP RF project.

Regional Business Ombudsmen and representatives of their offices from 25 regions of the Russian Federation, Heads of executive and legislative bodies of the Tver region and regional departments of the federal agencies, federal and regional representatives of the center “Business against corruption”, representatives of local business associations, pro bono experts, and public representatives of Business Ombudsmen at the regional municipalities participated in the event.
