At the start of their 1332nd meeting, the Chairperson expressed the Committee’s condolences and solidarity after the shooting in Strasbourg, on 11 December, and the Deputies observed a minute’s silence.

They held exchanges of views with:

• Mr Didier Reynders, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign and European Affairs of Belgium
• Ms Anna Rurka, President of the Conference of International non-governmental Organisations (INGOs)

The Deputies adopted Recommendation CM/Rec(2018)12 on the promotion of good governance in sport and took note of its Explanatory Memorandum (more information …).

They also welcomed Resolution No. 1 “Protecting human rights in sport: obligations and shared responsibilities” and the International Declaration on Human Rights and Sport (Tbilisi Declaration), as well as Resolution No. 2 “Fighting corruption in sport: scaling up action”, adopted by the 15th Council of Europe Conference of Ministers responsible for Sport (Tbilisi, Georgia, 16 October 2018) (see the report of the Conference).

Finally, the Deputies adopted Recommendation CM/RecChL(2018)6 on the application of the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages by Ukraine.
