Council of Europe Roundtable on child-friendly information for children in migration

In the framework of the Council of Europe Action plan on protecting refugee and migrant children (2017-2019) the Children's Rights Division will hold a roundtable on "child-friendly information for children in migration" from 29-30 November. The Roundtable will gather government and local authorities, child-protection authorities, border and asylum officials, Ombudspersons for children, civil society actors and children who have participated in child consultations on the topic specifically for the roundtable.

The aims of the roundtable are to gather examples of good practice of tools and methodologies to communicate with children in migration in a child-friendly way and also to gather the recommendations of stakeholders and child participants about how to improve child-friendly information tools and practices.

The participants will take part in technical discussions about different aspects of a child's right to information throughout their journey to and through Europe, the outcomes of the roundtable will feed into work on a Handbook on this topic to be drafted next year.
