Mr Pavel Šturma provided the CAHDI experts with an overview of the Report of the 71st session (2019) of the International Law Commission. In this respect, he reviewed the different topics under consideration by the ILC, as well as their respective progress, in particular concerning the "Peremptory norms of general international law (jus cogens)”, the “Protection of the environment in relation to armed conflicts”, the “Succession of States in respect of State responsibility”, the “Immunity of State officials from foreign criminal jurisdiction”, the “General principles of law”; and “Sea-level rise in relation to international law”.
