21st meeting of the Committee of the Parties

The 21st meeting of the Committee of the Parties of the Council of Europe Convention on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings was held in Strasbourg on 13 October 2017.

The Committee adopted recommendations under the second evaluation round of the Convention addressed to the Governments of Bosnia and Herzegovina, France, Ireland and Norway. Further, the Committee adopted a recommendation under the first evaluation round of the Convention addressed to the Government of Belarus.

The Committee also considered reports submitted by Finland, Germany, Hungary and Lithuania concerning measures taken to comply with the Committee of the Parties’ first round recommendations on the implementation of the Convention. The Committee took note of the measures taken by the authorities of these countries and decided to transmit the reports to GRETA in order to be taken into consideration for the second evaluation round. The Committee decided to make these reports public.

Further, the Committee considered reports submitted by Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark, Georgia and the Republic of Moldova concerning measures taken to comply with the Committee of the Parties’ second round recommendations on the implementation of the Convention. The Committee decided to send letters to these six parties, asking them to provide further information on certain issues. The reports will be made public on the Council of Europe’s Anti-Trafficking website.
