Ill-treatment is never justified under any circumstances
A short awareness raising TV spot, produced in partnership with Amnesty International. It highlights the shocking realities faced by victims of torture, including the use of waterboarding. The clip underscores the work of the Council of Europe's Committee for the Prevention of Torture.
The CPT provides independent monitoring of places of detention, and publishes reports on the rights of detainees. This work is done in line with Article 3 of the European Convention on Human Rights which states that: “No one shall be subjected to torture or to inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment”.
