On 9-10 December, the Execution Department co-hosted, together with the National School of Judges of Ukraine, and in cooperation with the Department of the European Social Charter and the HELP Programme, the high-level regional Conference “Protection of human rights through judicial education: best practices and improvement of standards”.
The Conference was concluded with the adoption of the Kyiv Recommendations on the Content and Methodology of Judicial Training on the Implementation of the ECHR case-law and the Execution of ECHR judgments.

On 11 December, the Execution Department and the HELP Programme presented the online course on the execution of the European Court's judgments at the Faculty of Law of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. The discussions among participants stressed the fundamental role played by university education and professional training in the Convention system for preventing violations and promoting human rights.
On 12 December the Execution Department, in cooperation with the Free Legal Aid system and the Ukrainian Bar Association, organised a second network meeting on the execution of the European Court's judgments by Ukraine: achievements, prospects and future expectations.
During the meeting, representatives of the Department informed national stakeholders about the result of its cooperation with Ukrainian authorities and about the latest decisions of the Committee of Ministers (HR) on the execution of the Court's judgments concerning Ukraine. The participants included representatives of judicial, legislative and executive authorities, investigative bodies, the Ombudsman, Free Legal Aid, academics, human rights NGOs, experts and lawyers. The meeting provided a forum for discussing main achievements, current obstacles and possible future synergies for the execution of judgments.
