The Department for the Execution of Judgments of the European Court of Human Rights carried out a mission to Malta on 8 and 9 October.
During this mission, the Department’s delegation held a series of meetings and discussions with the Maltese authorities concerning the progress of the execution of judgments concerning Malta, with special emphasis on those concerning various violations of property rights and pre-trial detention.
The authorities met included the Ministry for Justice, Culture and Local Government, the Ministry for Home Affairs and National Security, the Ministry for Social Accommodation and the Government Agent’s Office. The representatives also met with the Chief Justice and judges of the Constitutional Court.
