Let’s Sound Together – Concert which unites

On 4 December 2019, the First Channel of the Ukrainian Radio and the Council of Europe Department of the European Social Charter organized a unique event – an inclusive concert which unites young performers. This initiative with the involvement of children with disabilities proves that there are no limits for those who love music and want to be creative.

The concert was marked with the choir of boys of Petro Tchaikovsky National Music Academy under the guidance of Alla Sheiko, Honoured Artist of Ukraine. The choir is a unique team who performs acapella classical songs of Ukrainian and foreign composers including Georg Handel and Mykola Leontovych. Its unexpected performance of the African folk song has shaken the audience with applauses.

Viktoriia Bulieieva, a prize-winner of numerous international contests and third-year student of Petro Tchaikovsky National Music Academy, has joined the choir to perform the song of Ivan Nebesnyi.

Volodymyr Kozhukhivskyi, a student of the Children’s Music School No.39, surprised with a lively accordion performance. He demonstrated his perfect music skills while performing a piece of Volodymyr Korniev “Intermezzo”.

Further the concert developed its pace while filling the hearts of audience with the sincere song “How not to love you, my Kyiv” performed by Olesia Bondarchuk (piano), Artem Noval (piano), Viacheslav Bahrii (flute), students of Kyiv Children’s Art School No.3. Yuliia Semeniuk has also joined her friends and complemented the trio of Olesia and Artem with her piano performance. They introduced the audience with the world of sounds by performing the Ukrainian folk song.

It would be impossible to imagine the concert “Let’s Sound Together” without guitar sounds of the talented Ivan Panchenko who performed the masterpiece of Heitor Villa-Lobos “Etude No.1”. Ivan has impressed the listeners with his skillful performance and feeling of guitar rhythms.

The ensemble of bandura players “Rainbow” of the Children’s Music School No.39 composed of Valeriia Bila, Veronika Bila, Liliia Velychko, Anastasia Huryn and Iryna Ryzhenko performed the Cossack’s song. The girls impressed with their singing skills and melodic voices in addition to their bandura performances.

The concert was also enriched with popular music performances. Kateryna Stadnyk demonstrated gentle and melodic performance of a song by Lesia Horova. Afina Ostapenko with her clear voice has sung the Ukrainian folk song “Podolianochka”. Yelyzaveta-Maria Lemak with her strong voice performed the Ukrainian folk song “Stone Mountain”. The talented singer Roman Telp has sung the famous song “Boat” by Sviatoslav Vakarchuk.

The hosts of the concert Oleksandra Babak and Oleksandr Dovhal have created a joyful atmosphere, communicated with the audience and also presented everyone in an original way.

The First Channel of the Ukrainian Radio and the Council of Europe Department of the European Social Charter congratulate all the participants of the concert “Let’s Sound Together”. Siuzanna Mnatsakanian, Senior Project Officer of the Council of Europe Project “Promoting Social Human Rights as a Key Factor of Sustainable Democracy in Ukraine” underlined: “We were pleased to gather talented performers here in the Sound Recording House. You impress us with your talents, persistence and strong will. We are confident that your charming voices and music instruments will be heard on many stages in the world”. Siuzanna Mnatsakanian has also marked the contribution of Olena Sadivnycha, a teacher and methodologist of the Children’s Music School No.39, for preparing and organizing the concert for young performers.
