The Secretary General of the Council of Europe receives a delegation of the Via Francigena „Road to Rome 2021“ initiative

On 15 June, Representatives of the “Via Francigena“, Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe, were received by Ms. Marija Pejčinović Burić, Secretary General of the Council of Europe on the occasion of the 20th Anniversary of the European Association of the Via Francigena Ways (EAVF) and the kick-off of their “Road to Rome 2021. Start again!" initiative, a 3200km-long walk from Canterbury to Rome.

During the high level meeting, a delegation of representatives of the European Association of the Via Francigena Ways (EAVF), composed of Mr. Massimo TEDESCHI, President; Mr. Francesco FERRARI, Deputy Vice-President (Italy); Mr. Gaetan TORNAY, Vice-President (Switzerland); Mr. Pierre CONTOZ, Executive Council (France) and Mr. Luca BRUSCHI, Director, presented to the Secretary General of the Council of Europe the programme, travel arrangements and visibility of the event.

Every year, over 50,000 Europeans travel along the Via Francigena.
