THE WHITE RIBBON CAMPAIGN (English)

The WRC is the largest effort in the world of men working to end men's violence against women.

MEN AGAINST VIOLENCE (English)



USA organisation, Men Against Violence Against Women, began in 2000 as a small group of individuals, both male and female, whose mission was to affect social change in the community by making men aware of the prevalence of violence against women. The concept was to develop creative and targeted marketing, education and communication tools to deliver the message that the issue was indeed a man's issue as much as a woman's, since the majority of all violent crimes against women are perpetrated by men.

 

MEN CAN STOP RAPE (English)

Men Can Stop Rape, USA, empowers male youth and the institutions that serve them to work as allies with women in preventing rape and other forms of men's violence. Through awareness-to-action education and community organizing, the organisations promotes gender equity and builds men's capacity to be strong without being violent.

CANTERA (English)

Nicaraguan NGO, CANTERA’s, work in the area of masculinity began in September of 1994 when a group of men met in Nicaragua to discuss the social construction of "masculinity". This exchange and period of reflection led to the development of the methodological course “Masculinity and Popular Education", which CANTERA continues to develop and run each year to facilitate serious reflection on gender issues and gender roles.

Research and Articles on Men Combating Violence

MICHAEL KAUFMAN (English)

Dr. Kaufman is a speaker, writer, and consultant on gender issues. He delivers both keynote talks and interactive workshops for international organizations, governments, and non-governmental organizations; for corporations and professional firms; trade unions and professional associations; universities and high schools. He provides individual gender sensitivity coaching. He is also a consultant and writer on a wide range of gender issues, specifically masculinities and violence against women.


CROME - CRITICAL RESEARCH ON MEN IN EUROPE (English)

Is an umbrella research network of women and men researchers who are researching on men and masculinities in an explicitly gendered way. It brings together researchers from European countries, initially Estonia, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Norway, Poland, Russian Federation, UK, and subsequently Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Spain, Sweden and acts as an information resource for other researchers and policy-makers.
 

EUROPROFEM (English and French)

Europrofem’s aim is for men to work towards a non-sexist society with, and in support of, women.
 

DAPHNEE Toolkit - (French, English, Spanish, Italian and Finnish)

The Daphne Toolkit aims at supporting organisations that develop measures and actions to prevent or to combat all types of violence against children, young people and women and to protect the victims and groups at-risk. It contains a toolkit for those wishing to start a project in this area and also research and project evaluations of those that Daphne has funded from 1998 - 2005 so far.

MEN’S NET (English)

This Canadian network links many paths regarding and contain articles on, men working in a great variety of ways against sexism, patriarchy and homophobia, men who want to continue to explore the experiences that promote co-creative relationships, men involved with movements of social and economic justice in Canada and internationally and finally men who are fathers, making efforts to be responsible, loving parents, in committed relationships or as single dads.
