Le Conseil de l'Europe examine les résultats de sa Recommandation sur le vote électronique

Strasbourg, 20.11.2006 - Le 30 septembre 2004, le Comité des Ministres du Conseil de l'Europe adoptait le premier texte juridique international sur le vote électronique pour les élections et référendums. La Recommandation (2004) 11 propose aux gouvernements des orientations juridiques, opérationnelles et techniques pour mettre en place, organiser et superviser un système de vote électronique permettant d'assurer des résultats aussi fiables que ceux obtenus par des méthodes traditionnelles de vote sur papier.

Les 23 et 24 novembre au siège du Conseil de l'Europe à Strasbourg, des représentants des Etats membres ainsi que des experts indépendants examineront, deux ans après l'adoption de la Recommandation, l'évolution de la situation en matière de vote électronique. Une rencontre avec la presse aura lieu à l'issue de la réunion, le 24 novembre à 16 h 15, Salle 10, Palais de l'Europe.

Council of Europe reviews the results of its Recommendation on e-voting

Strasbourg, 20.11.2006 - On 30 September 2004 the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe adopted the first international legal text on e-voting in elections and referendums. Recommendation (2004) 11 offers governments legal, operational and technical guidelines on how to build, run and supervise e-voting systems to ensure that results are as reliable as those delivered by traditional paper-based methods.

On 23-24 November, at the Council of Europe headquarters in Strasbourg, representatives of member states and independent experts will review, two years after the adoption of the recommendation, the evolution of the situation in the field of e-voting. A press briefing will take place at the end of the meeting, on 24 November at 4.15 pm, Room 10, Palais de l'Europe.
