Keith Whitmore: ''Congress reform brings more substantial dialogue with governments on grassroots policies''  [18/10/2011]

The 21st Session was opened this morning by President Keith Whitmore, who presented the evolution of the Congress work since the adoption of a comprehensive reform of its structures and working methods in October 2010. ''Our approach has become more operational, more practical, more concrete and result-oriented,'' he said. As a first tangible success he qualified, ''our monitoring missions of local and regional democracy which allow us to enter into a more substantial and targeted dialogue on grassroots issues with authorities in the country concerned.'' La 21�me Session a �t� ouverte ce matin par le Pr�sident Keith Whitmore qui a pr�sent� l��volution des travaux du Congr�s depuis l�adoption d�une r�forme compl�te de ses structures et m�thodes de travail en octobre 2010. ''Notre approche est devenue plus op�rationnelle, plus pratique, plus concr�te et orient�e vers les r�sultats'', a-t-il d�clar�. Un premier succ�s tangible, a-t-il expliqu�, consiste en ''nos missions de monitoring de la d�mocratie locale et r�gionale qui nous permettent d�ouvrir un dialogue plus substantiel et plus cibl� sur les questions de proximit� avec les autorit�s des pays concern�s''.
