Back The Council of Europe anti-torture Committee announces periodic visits to eight countries in 2024

The European Committee for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (CPT) has announced today its 2024 programme of periodic visits.
The Council of Europe anti-torture Committee announces periodic visits to eight countries in 2024

The Committee intends to examine the treatment of persons deprived of their liberty in the following countries:

  • Bosnia and Herzegovina
  • Czech Republic
  • Denmark
  • France
  • Georgia
  • Ireland
  • Norway
  • Slovenia

Persons and organisations in possession of relevant information concerning the situation of persons deprived of their liberty in any of these countries are invited to bring it to the attention of the Committee.

In 2024, the CPT will also continue to organise ad hoc visits to various countries, and, depending on the circumstances, it may decide to postpone one or more periodic visits to 2025.
