The Committee of Experts of the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages held its 71st plenary meeting from 16 to 19 November 2021 in a hybrid format (Strasbourg/online). During the meeting the Committee of Experts adopted its evaluation reports on the application of the Charter by Norway and Ukraine. The evaluation reports will be transmitted to the authorities of the respective State Party for possible comments within a deadline of two months. The reports and the states comments will then be made public and submitted to the Committee of Ministers, together with proposals for recommendations that, once adopted by the latter, will be addressed to the State Party.

On 19 November 2021, the Committee of Experts also elected the following members of the Bureau who will take up their functions as of 1 January 2022:
