The Steering Group of the Policy Area Culture of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region took place the 30 January 2019 in Gdansk, Poland.

Constanze Metzger, Routes4U Senior Project Officer, presented the joint programme between the EU and the Council of Europe. One of the objective of Routes4U is to support the creation and extension of Cultural Routes in the EU macro-regions, such as the Baltic Sea Region.

The Steering Group discussed the creation of new Cultural Routes and the possibilities of becoming an EUSBSR flagship projects. Among the Cultural Routes topics identified by the Steering Group, modern architecture and maritime heritage stands as priorities for the macro-region.
