The Congress of Local and Regional Authorities will hold its session, for the first time in person since the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Congress will hold debates on the “Post-Covid Recovery”, on the migration challenges, working conditions of elected representatives in times of hate speech and fake news on the internet, on the challenges and opportunities for municipalities presented by home-sharing platforms, on inter-regional and cross-border co-operation, as well as on lifelong education for lifelong employment of young generations. Under the initiative “Rejuvenating Politics”, youth delegates will present projects from the field.
The Congress will adopt the monitoring reports on Albania, Cyprus, the Netherlands, North Macedonia and Spain as part of its monitoring of the compliance of Council of Europe member states with the European Charter of Local Self-Government.
The ceremony for the 7th edition of the Dosta! - Congress Prize given to municipalities for the inclusion of the Roma and Traveller communities will also be held.
The Congress session will be open to media upon prior accreditation. Interpretation will be provided in English, French, Italian, German, Russian and Turkish.
The session will be live webcast as from 26 October 10 a.m.
