On 2-5 May 2017, four representatives of the High School of Justice of Georgia were on a study visit at the Portuguese Center for Judicial Studies (CEJ) in Lisbon. The objective of the study visit was to exchange experience on the implementation of the judicial training cycle management through peer to peer contact and direct learning in the Center's premises. The Georgian delegation was welcomed by the Director, Mr João Manuel da Silva Miguel, judge at the Supreme Court, and Ms Helena Leitão, Senior Prosecutor and Coordinator of the CEJ International Department. The deputy director of the High School of Justice, Ms Ketevan Kvinikadze, thanked the hosts and organisers for the excellent welcome and detailed programme of the visit. As a result of this visit, the High School of Justice staff will improve their training cycle management knowledge from best practices applied at CEJ and acquire additional skills by observing the trainings delivered in CEJ, among which for example is the application of the "snowball" method of training assessment and follow-up.

The activity was organised within the framework of the Council of Europe Project “Strengthening the capacity of the High School of Justice of Georgia”. This Project is funded by voluntary contributions of Bulgaria, Liechtenstein, Norway, Slovakia and Sweden to support the implementation of the Council of Europe Action plan for Georgia 2016-2019.
