Strasbourg City Council’s Lieu d’Europe played host to a Syrian chef on World Refugee Day as part of the Refugee Food Festival
Several European cities take part in the Refugee Food Festival, a programme conceived by citizens and supported by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. Refugee cooks team up with local chefs to offer a variety of unique menus inspired by specialties from the newcomers’ countries of origin. This is a way of helping to change the way in which migrants are perceived, by showcasing their talents and highlighting their contribution to the host society.
This project is being implemented by Strasbourg City Council, with the network of partner cities of the Club de Strasbourg.
