The Governmental Committee* of the European Social Charter and the European Code of Social Security ("Governmental Committee") is holding its 146th meeting from 9 to 12 May 2023.
Among other issues, the Governmental Committee will discuss about adapting its internal rules of procedure in order to implement the Committee of Ministers decisions taken on the reform of the monitoring system of the European Social Charter. It will also discuss the new tasks assigned to the Governmental Committee and how to put them into practice.
The Governmental Committee will examine in view of its adoption the draft resolutions on the application of the European Code of Social Security and its protocol, prepared on the basis of the ILO conclusions submitted on 8 March 2023.
Moreover, the Governmental Committee will assess the selected situations of non-conformity with regard to the thematic group 3 on “Labour rights”" relating to conclusions XXII-2 (2022) - European Social Charter (CES) 1961 and conclusions 2022 - Revised European Social Charter (RESC).
An updated list of INGOs entitled to present collective complaints will also be submitted to the Governmental Committee with a view to its adoption.
*The Governmental Committee is composed of representatives of States Parties which have ratified either the European Social Charter or the European Code of Social Security.
