The Governmental Committee* of the European Social Charter and the European Code of Social Security (‘Governmental Committee’) will hold its 139th meeting from 13 to 17 May 2019 in Strasbourg.
The Governmental Committee will examine International Labour Organisation (ILO) conclusions with a view to adopting them as a draft Resolutions to be submitted to the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.
In addition, it will discuss follow-up measures taken by the State Parties with respect to the 2018 conclusions of the European Committee of Social Rights concerning the thematic group “Labour rights”.
A debate on the activities of the Drafting Group on social rights CDDH-SOC and on the reform of the monitoring system of the European Social Charter will also be held in the course of the week.
The Governmental Committee will also hold an exchange of views with a delegation of the Conference of INGOs of the Council of Europe on the follow-up of the European Committee of Social Rights 2018 Conclusions.
* The Governmental Committee is composed of Representatives of the States Parties which ratified either the European Social Charter or the European Code of Social Security.
