On 18 June, the Council of Europe held the DG Democracy Partial Agreements Open doors Day, bringing together eight Partial Agreements in a virtual event intended for Permanent Representations, ministry Representatives in intergovernmental bodies and staff.

Sharing in-depth insights into the work of the Partial Agreements and better understanding the developments and major issues of their actions were the main objectives of the half-day presentation of the DG Democracy Partial Agreements.

Eight presentations on the role of the Partial Agreements in multilateral cooperation, their strategic goals and challenges as well as their response to COVID-19 were given by the Executives Secretaries and the Presidents of Boards:

• Major and technological disasters (EUR-OPA) - established in 1987
• Eurimages - established in 1988
• Global interdependence and solidarity (North-South Centre) - established in 1989
• Youth Mobility through the Youth Card - established in 1991
• European Centre for Modern Languages (Graz Centre) - established in 1994
• Enlarged Partial Agreement on Sport (EPAS) - established in 2007
• Cultural Routes - established in 2010
• Observatory on History Teaching in Europe - established in 2020

The programme for this Open Day was organised around short discussion sessions that were transmitted live, followed by a questions and answers session.

The EPA on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe was introduced through a dedicated video, a presentation by Mr. Stefano Dominioni, EPA Executive Secretary and EICR Director, and an interview by Mr. Julien VUILLEUMIER, newly elected Chair of the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Cultural Routes.
