Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra (UKF) joins the University Network for Cultural Routes Studies

Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra (Slovakia) has just joined the University Network for Cultural Routes Studies. A General Framework Agreement for Collaboration between the European Institute of Cultural Routes (EICR) and Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra (UKF) was signed by Mr. Stefano DOMINIONI, Executive Secretary of the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe (EPA) and EICR Director, and Mr. Peter Ivanič, Professor at the Institute for Research of Constantine and Methodius’ Сultural Heritage (Faculty of Arts of the Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra).

Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra is a member of the network of the Cyril and Methodius Route, certified Cultural Route of the Council of Europe in 2021. The award ceremony took place during the international conference “Cyril and Methodius Route – Cultural Route of the Council of Europe” where Mr. Peter IVANIČ presented a paper on “European values in relation to the Cyril and Methodius heritage”. Mr. Peter IVANIČ is also the Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Cyril and Methodius Route. UKF was also represented at the event.

Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra is a co-educational public university located in southwestern Slovakia. Since 1996 it bears the name of Saint Cyril, who was born as Constantine (827–869), one of the most important personalities in Slovak history. UKF has five faculties and a wide range of programs. It is also focusing on student work and is known for numerous cultural, social, and sporting events and student activities, many of which with long traditions.

The University Network for Cultural Routes Studies is a network of Universities interested in the study of Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe. The Network aims to encourage the conduct of research on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe related issues, encourage students to undertake their academic research on Cultural Routes, jointly apply for European Grants with the EICR, participate in the annual programme of activities of the EICR and offer scientific advice where required.
