Quality Label on-site visit to Brežice Youth Centre, Slovenia

Established in 1997, the public institution Brežice Youth Centre (Mladinski Center Brežice) was one of the first youth centres which successfully associated itself with the Council of Europe Quality Label for Youth Centres. The Centre was awarded the Quality Label in 2013 and the Label was renewed by the European Steering Committee for Youth (CDEJ) for an additional five years in 2016 (2016-2020).

A Quality Label expert on-site visit took place on 29 July 2019 to Brežice Youth Centre to follow up on the team of experts' recommendations to be implemented if the Centre was to meet the 15 quality criteria, as well as to learn more about recent developments.

The team of experts was hosted by the Director of Brežice Youth Centre, Mateja Gerjevič, and had the opportunity to meet the Deputy Mayor of Brežice, Katja Čanžar, the Director of the Movit/National Agency of Erasmus+, Uroš Skrinar, and other local partners of the Centre for an exchange on the role, value and impact of Brežice Youth Centre. An end-of-term evaluation visit will be paid to the Centre in late 2020.

Currently, 13 youth centres across Europe hold the Council of Europe Quality Label for Youth Centres. To learn more about the Programme, see our brochure here.

The team of experts was composed of: Ruxandra Pandea, external consultant; Gordana Berjan, Executive Director of the European Youth Centre Budapest
