Az idei második BEIK-Ököfilmklub keretében szeretettel meghívunk 2019. április 18-án 18:00-kor kezdődő filmvetítésünkre, melynek címe: The True Cost

A “True Cost” Andrew Morgan a divat globális hatásairól szóló 2015-ben készült dokumentumfilmje, amelynek készítése előtt a rendező sem tudott annál többet a divatról, mint amennyit a ruhavásárlók többsége. A 2013-ban összedőlt és több mint 1000 ember halálát követelő bangladeshi textilüzem, a Rana Plazáról készült fotók azonban annyira megrázták, hogy úgy döntött, feltesz néhány nagyon egyszerű kérdést. Kik készítik a ruháit, amiket nap mint nap visel? Milyen körülmények között dolgoznak? Mennyit keresnek? A világ számos különböző országban forgatva, nyomortelepektől a leghíresebb kifutókig járja végig a film a divatipar, a avilág második leginkább környezetszennyező iparágának sajátosságait és rántja le a leplet arról, hogy valójában ki fizeti meg az árát az általunk viselt ruháknak.
A vetítést követő beszélgetést Molnár Bálint, a Budapesti Európai Ifjúsági Központ igazgatóhelyettese moderálja.

We would like to kindly invite you to our upcoming movie screening night followed by a roundtable discussion at the European Youth Centre Budapest on 18 April, 2019 starting from 18:00, titled The True Cost.
This is a story about clothing. It’s about the clothes we wear, the people who make them, and the impact the industry is having on our world. The price of clothing has been decreasing for decades, while the human and environmental costs have grown dramatically. The True Cost is a groundbreaking documentary film that pulls back the curtain on the untold story and asks us to consider, who really pays the price for our clothing? Filmed in countries all over the world, from the brightest runways to the darkest slums, and featuring interviews with the world’s leading influencers including Stella McCartney, Livia Firth and Vandana Shiva, The True Cost is an unprecedented project that invites us on an eye opening journey around the world and into the lives of the many people and places behind our clothes.
A roundtable discussion following the screening will be hosted by Bálint Molnár, deputy executive director of the European Youth Centre Budapest. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided.
