The goal of the event is to review the status of women in the legal profession in Ukraine and to analyse the main challenges of being female in the legal field, to identify obstacles women face when entering the legal profession, and to find possibilities of a work-life balance for female lawyers.

The event will be attended by students of the Faculty of Law of the Taras Shevchenko national University and the Institute of International relations, teaching staff and practicing lawyers. The discussion will address the general view of the Ukrainian society on women’s role and status in the historically and traditionally male-oriented law field in Ukraine.

It should also allow exploring possible ways of strengthening women’s status in the society with the help of legal education, including by incorporating gender studies in the country’s law schools.

The Satellite event will take place on 6 November 2018 from 13:00 to 16:00 at the Faculty of Law, Taras Shevchenko National University, Kyiv.
