On 20th November 2017, the first training seminar using the newly-published Guide for visiting detention centres for parliamentarians will take place at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.
Organised in the framework of the Assembly’s Parliamentary Campaign against Migration Detention of Children and in cooperation with the Council of Europe Children’s Rights Division, the training is aimed to help members of national parliaments and children’s ombudspersons to carry out visits and interview children detained during immigration procedures.
A pilot session was held in April 2017.
