Regional Collaboration on Migration and Asylum: Key Challenges and Good Practices

On 14 November 2019, in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Council of Europe organised a conference entitled “Regional Collaboration on Migration and Asylum: Key Challenges and Promising Practices”.  

The conference gathered representatives of the migration authorities and civil society from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, representatives of the Secretariat of the Council of Europe and other international organisations. The aim of the event was to improve both the national and regional cooperation amongst participants and their respective entities on migration and asylum. Topics of discussion included: Critical issues in the current context, Council of Europe standards, human rights and security, children and other individuals in a vulnerable situation and the role of international institutions and civil society.
