Educational guide “Alter-Narrative - how to react constructively to online hate speech?”
Description: This 20-page guide, inspired by the Council of Europe’s manual We CAN!, provides a simplified version to work with the topic of narratives in an educational environment with young people. The guide is divided into four parts: 1) the first part provides a step-by-step guide on how to analyse oppressive narratives and how to develop appropriate responses to them; 2) the second part explains the reporting mechanism of hate speech in Belgium, thus giving a local context; 3) the third part gives 10 practical tips for developing responses to hate speech and oppressive narratives; and 4) the fourth part lists a number of suggestions for further engagement with the No Hate Speech Movement.
