Human rights education training for the representatives of the Office of Resource Officers continues

The Council of Europe organised a second course of training of trainers for the representatives of the Office of Resource Officers of Educational Institutions from Tbilisi and regions on human rights education. 19 staff members have been trained to be trainers based on the Human Rights Education Programme developed by the Council of Europe.

The programme was developed by the end of 2019 in a joint co-operation between the Office of Resource Officers and the Council of Europe. Last year 20 resource officers, psychologists and social workers have already undergone this programme.

The training enables the participants to manage the human rights education process more effectively with their colleagues, students/pupils and all stakeholders involved in school life. It helps to ensure the successful planning and implementation of various educational campaigns and other preventive initiatives.

The training was conducted by Council of Europe experts, who were involved in developing the Human Rights Education Programme for Resource Officers.

The training of trainers is supported by the co-operation project “Fight against Discrimination, Hate Crimes and Hate Speech in Georgia” which is implemented under the Council of Europe’s Action Plan for Georgia 2016-2019 with the support of the Danish Neighbourhood Programme in Georgia (DANEP).
