In the context of promoting good governance at local level in Belarus and following the sitting of the Council for Cooperation of Local Self-Government Bodies by the Republican Council of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus held on 28 April 2017 in Minsk, G.Kosyak and S.Tatarov had several meetings with the representatives of the Minsk region and other strategic public authorities from Belarus during their mission on 25-26 May 2017 in Minsk.

Therefore, representatives of the Council of Europe have met with Mr Lipnitki, the chairman and the heads of the several departments of the Minsk Regional Council having fruitful discussions on the potential support of the Council of Europe in developing and implementing several initiatives concerning cooperation in waste management, human resource management and tourism. Among others, Mrs Juk, the chairwoman of the Executive committee of Senitsky municipality, present at the meeting, showed interest and readiness to participate in these initiatives.

The meeting with the representatives of the Academy of Public Administration by the President of the Republic of Belarus also turned out to be very productive. As a result of the discussion, two trainings on Human Resource Management are planned to be developed and carried out in Belarus in the near future and assistance in streamlining the civil service legislation to be provided.
