Teleworking in Public Administration: Training workshop for the Lithuanian municipalities and regions

In light of the ongoing health crisis related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the local and regional authorities across Europe faced strong challenges in ensuring the work continuity of the public administration and their service delivery. Many of them had to experiment with teleworking for the first time, while for some this working mode continues to be either a norm or a possibility for their staff. To be able to support the authorities to better adjust to the new working methods, the Council of Europe's Centre of Expertise for Good Governance has developed a Toolkit on Teleworking in Public Administration. It aims to introduce modern workplace practices, including flexible working arrangements.

In cooperation with the Association of Local Authorities in Lithuania, on 18 November 2021 the Centre of Expertise will organise a training workshop for the representatives of the regional and local authorities. A survey carried out among the participants has already provided insight into some of the difficulties faced by the public administration in Lithuania. The survey will allow the training workshop to be better tailored to the specific needs.

The activity will be implemented in the framework of the Council of Europe – European Union Join Project “Establishment of legal, institutional and financial framework at regional (county) level, capacity-building to enhance quality of regional public administration in Lithuania”.
