Between 22 and 26 September 2014, under the pre-electoral assistance programme to support the Republic of Moldova in view of the Parliamentary elections financed by Council of Europe Ordinary Budget and Voluntary Contributions from Romania and Liechtenstein, the Division of Electoral Assistance and Census deployed an expert of the Venice Commission on electoral disputes resolution to the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Moldova, the National Institute of Justice and the Centre for Continuous Electoral Training.

Assistance provided by the Venice Commission expert Mrs. Daria Paprocka, will culminate with the conduct of a training for judges on international standards on electoral disputes in the field of candidates’ registration and campaigning. The training will be jointly conducted with Mr Vadim Motarschi (CEC Member), Mr Pavel Postica (NGO Promo-Lex) and Mrs Valeria Sterbet (Judge, National Institute of Magistracy).

The event is part of a series of activities that will be developed in the next months’ all over the country aiming at assisting the authorities with the preparations for the conduct of elections in a free and fair environment.
