The Division of Electoral Assistance of the Council of Europe has been invited to participate in the post-election Conference in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will take place on 19-21 March 2015 in Teslić. Under the topic “2014 General Elections – Lessons Learned” the event is aimed at sharing experiences drawn from the last General Elections that were held on 12 October 2014 and will provide an opportunity to take stock of the longstanding cooperation between the Council of Europe and the authorities in the field of electoral assistance.

More specifically, the Conference will address the following issues: (1) challenges in electoral process with the focus on invalid ballots and the election administration performance; (2) election risk management – global experiences and their application in Bosnia and Herzegovina; and (3) necessity of changes to the election legislation.

The event is organized by the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina in cooperation with the Division of Electoral Assistance of the Council of Europe. Participants to the conference also include representatives from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe/Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) and from International IDEA.
