Retour iPROCEEDS: Cybercrime Simulation Exercise: Investigating cybercrime and its financial gain

Cybercrime investigators, digital forensics specialists, financial investigators, prosecutors as well as Financial Intelligence Unit from Kosovo* has gathered today to participate in a four days Cybercrime Simulation Exercise, in Pristina.

The activity is organised by the Cybercrime Programme Office of the Council of Europe, through the joint project of European Union and the Council of Europe – iPROCEEDS, from 13 – 16 November 2017.

The exercise intends to explore and establish closer links between professional communities of prosecutors, cybercrime investigators, financial intelligence/investigation officers and the private sector.

At the same time, it looks to address the problems of coordination and cooperation in the most practical way and will require the participants to investigate cybercrime, apply digital forensics skills, detect and handle suspicious financial transactions and money laundering and recover data through international cooperation channels.

 

 

* This designation is without prejudice to positions on status, and is in line with UNSC 1244 and the ICJ Opinion on the Kosovo Declaration of Independence.
