Project: “School Environment for Inclusive Learning and Free Time Activities” - good practice example

Themes of the Council of Europe campaign “FREE to SPEAK, SAFE to LEARN - Democratic Schools for All” covered:

Competences from the Reference Framework of Competences for Democratic Culture (CDC) addressed and where / how they were integrated:

  • Co-operation skills
    • Assessment of the situation and needs in schools for an inclusive approach, target group identification;
    • Adaptation and technical equipment for the room for working, learning, teacher and peer support for students who are in some way marginalized;
    • Develop a plan and a programme to work with the target group through:
      • Assistance with homework
      • Learning progress checks, examining, explaining, learning support
      • Individual work ­ studying, revision, practice
      • Group work ­posters, boards etc.
      • Development of Information technology and digital literacy
      • Use of multimedia content connected with curriculum from the Internet

Short description of the project:

This project is focused on improving inclusive education and the quality of work in our school. The main beneficiaries are pupils who come from deprived backgrounds, but also numerous other pupils and local community actors will benefit from the activities envisaged in this project. The main activities are: to develop the programme for extracurricular activities for children from deprived areas, to adapt the classroom to be used for the programme, to improve cooperation with parents of pupils from deprived backgrounds and to strengthen teachers’ competences to better react to the educational needs of various groups of pupils, to participate at the final meeting of the project participants and the presentation of the results (Mutual Workshop for Students of Technical School and VII Belgrade Gymnasium)
