The Award Ceremony was held at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg on 27 September to celebrate the winning performances of the laureates of the 2022 BeSafeNet Olympiad. The three teams from Secondary schools in the EUR-OPA members states: team Minelescu GEOsmart, Romania (1st), team Iliosporoi, Greece (2nd) and team Zamolxis, Romania (3rd), the BeSafeNet project team as well as the EUR-OPA secretariat participated in this event. The students successfully competed against 211 other teams from 11 EUR-OPA member states.

The competition was organised in the framework of the BeSafeNet project implemented by the Cyprus Civil Defence Ministry and sponsored by the European and Mediterranean Major Hazards Agreement (EUR-OPA). BeSafeNet continues to raise awareness about the nature, causes and potentially destructive effects of natural and technological disasters.
