In the framework of the 7th Session of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction held in Bali, Indonesia on 23-28 May 2022, the Executive Secretary participated on 23 and 24 May in the Stakeholder Engagement Forum. He addressed the forum during the special session for the Stakeholder Group on Persons with Disabilities. He highlighted the recent work of the Agreement, in particular, the recently adopted Recommendation on protecting people with disabilities during public health emergencies.

On 26 May, the Executive Secretary’s made a statement during the Midterm Review Plenary 2: Beyond natural hazards – operationalising the expanded scope of the Sendai Framework. He also transmitted a written statement to be included in the record of the Medium Term Plenary 3: Rethinking sustainable developments; investing with strategic foresight to build resilience.
