Within the Sida funded project Strengthening Democratic Citizenship Education in Albania, work on adapting and translating the newly developed LEMON courses into Albanian has just started.

The online course Intercultural School Development provides tools to education professionals to reflect on opportunities and obstacles when further developing the intercultural character of educational institutions. The course guides learners towards the development of a practical Action Plan to transform their institutions into more inclusive and democratic places.

The Key to Understanding Social Media, Democracy and Human Rights: A Guide For Educators, The Key to Teaching Democratic Competences For Social Media and The Key to Using Social Media as an Educational Tool for Democracy provide guidance to teach and use social media as an educational tool for democracy and human rights.

Once finalised the courses will be available for educators across Albania through the projects’ pilot schools as well as TeacherNet, a network of teachers established by the project. The courses are designed to be practical in a way that the knowledge gained can be immediately applied to daily school life. We are sure that the Albanian educators will find them useful!

The project “Strengthening Democratic Citizenship Education in Albania” is implemented by the Council of Europe and funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency.
