New website on the reference framework of competences for democratic culture (RFCDC)

Reference Framework of Competences for Democratic Culture (RFCDC) has been launched by the Council of Europe Education Department.

The aim of the website is to support education policy makers and educational practitioners across Europe in implementing the RFCDC by providing comprehensive information on the Framework and making available all the tools, materials and key references on one dedicated website.

The RFCDC is a policy tool as well as a practical tool for all levels of education: from pre-school through primary and secondary schooling to higher education, including adult education and vocational education.

It can be used by education systems to equip young people with all of the competences that are needed to take action to defend and promote human rights, democracy and the rule of law, to participate effectively in a culture of democracy, and to live peacefully together with others in culturally diverse societies.

The three volumes of the RFCDC are available in different languages on the website.
