Civic Roundtable 2017: 'Forced Migration and Asylum'

Co-organised by the Council of Europe and the Association of Schools of Political Studies of the Council of Europe, the 2017 Civic Roundtable was dedicated to Forced migration.

It brought together around 30 fellows from different European countries and beyond, to whom it provided an opportunity to discuss the dynamics of forced migration and asylum, to reflect on focused policy responses in the Council of Europe context and to exchange on possible ways to contribute to more coherent and effective international and national policy responses to forced migration and asylum.

The Roundtable was introduced by Tomáš BOČEK, Special Representative of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe on Migration and Refugees and counted the participation of two keynotespeakers with indepth knowledge of the topic:

. Kilian KLEINSCHMIDT, Founder and Chairman of Switxboard Global Networking and Humanitarian Expertise, former UNCHR Head of Za’atari Refugee Camp

. Guilia LAGANÀ, Senior Policy Analyst, EU Migration and Asylum Policies, Open Society European Policy Institute.
