On 22-25 August 2022, the GLACY+ joint project of the European Union and the Council of Europe, together with INTERPOL and in cooperation with the Public Ministry of Peru, organized a four-day workshop to identify capacity building needs in Peru. With this, Peru will become a priority country of the GLACY+ project for further capacity building.
Representatives of the judiciary, prosecution services and law enforcement agencies participated in the assessment of current challenges regading cybercrime and electronic evidence and future needs to ensure an effective criminal justice response in Peru. The conclusions and recommendations of this exercise will provide serve as a baseline and provide a roadmap for cooperation under GLACY+.
Peru acceded to the Budapest Convention on Cybercrime in August 2019 and therefore qualifies for the full range of support by GLACY+.
