GLACY+ and INTERPOL: ECOWAS trainers participated in a Training-of-Trainers of the First Responders course on e-evidence

The GLACY+ Project trained trainers in the delivery of an e-evidence training course for first responders (eFR-ToT). Twenty law enforcement officers from the ECOWAS region (Cabo Verde, Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria, and Sierra Leone) in charge of delivering training on the handling of e-evidence at crime scenes participated in this activity. The course aimed to equip them with knowledge and skills on e-evidence and delivering training in line with INTERPOL standards.

The programme combined INTERPOL’s standard course for instructors and the first responders course of the European Cybercrime Training and Education Group (ECTEG). The first part of the training was conducted online from 20 June to 8 July on instructional designs and delivery; the second part focused on mentoring and practical exercises on handling electronic evidence and took place in person in Cabo Verde from 25 to 29 July. The training was organised in cooperation with the OCWAR-C project, an EU-funded project implemented by the ECOWAS Commission.

Enhancing the capacity of states to combat cybercrime via technical and judicial training modules is one of the main objectives of the GLACY+ Project.
