The First meeting of the National Focal Points for the Pan-European Action Plan for Sturgeons took place in person in the premises of the Council of Europe building in Strasbourg on 5-6 October 2022.

This meeting took stock of the implementation of the Pan-European Action Plan for Sturgeons, identified challenges faced by Contracting Parties to the Bern Convention, showcased relevant conservation initiatives and agreed on pointers for the future and priority areas of work.

Oral presentations by National Focal Points on the relevant actions undertaken for implementing the Pan-European Action Plan for Sturgeons since its adoption by the Standing Committee in 2018 complemented the outcomes of a survey carried out among range Contracting Parties.
